Can't run app

I've never had this problem with MakeMKV before. Whenever I download a new version of the app, it won't open. I get the usual msg that the current version is old, that I need to download a new one. Then when I do that, the same thing happens. Again and again.
Help?

The key built in to v1.9.9 expired in late March. You need to set your system date back to around 3/25/2016, start MakeMKV, then you can reset your date.
Once it is running, you can enter the key found in this message, to make it work until late May:

You don't need to set the date back. Just click Register and copy in the key.

I have just had this happen to me. I have the current version, but it says it is the old version.
I would love to 'put in the key' - what is it? or where do I find it?
cheers,
Ceedee

Hi there,
i have a similar problem. 1.9.9 was running fine till last week. i tried to update 1.9.10 without success. 1.9.10 was nat starting. i found this thread an tried it out. but this is not working for me. right now i have the situation that no version (1.9.8, 1.9., 1.9.10) is stating anymore.
When i start makemkv from desktop just nothing happens. When i start it within terminal i get the message: Killed: 9
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Do you have any error logs to show why the operating system killed the process?

What logs are where depends upon the operating system. Windows has its Event Viewer. I'd check the files in the /var/log directory under Linux for one that changed just after you get the Killed message, because different distributions of Linux log things in different files. I'm not sure where to look under OS X.

hm... i am running Mac OS X...
i did a "tail -f *" in /var/log while starting makemkv... nothing. So it looks like this is not the right place to look for the log...

OS X has something similar to Window's Event Viewer that logs any system-related events, with a graphic interface. I do not know what it is called, though.

found the problem.
i installed this tool:
https://objective-see.com/products/ostiarius.html
05.05.16 10:15:22,000 kernel[0]: OSTIARIUS: /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS/makemkv is from the internet & is unsigned -> BLOCKING!
xattr -cr /Applications/MakeMKV.app/Contents/MacOS/makemkv solved the problem.
Thanks for the hint.
