MKV can't be opened because it's from an unidentified develo

The newest daspi_1.3.pkg and MKV can't be opened in Mountain Lion because security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. There is a procedure to go around this... anyone able to describe it. Had to go back to MKV 1.7xx to use it.

Login with admin privileges,
Go to System Preferences/Security and Privacy/General.
Where it says Allow applications downloaded from, choose "Anywhere".

System Preferences > Security > Allow apps from anywhere

It's a stupid Gatekeeper thing.

Romansh provided a solution below. Also, if you are launching from the Launchpad or from the Applications folder in your Dock you can CTRL-click an application you believe to be safe and it will run without requiring you disable Gatekeeper.

I present this alternative to labelling it stupid and shutting if off. Gatekeeper is a handy "filter" when used properly though some are easily overwhelmed by it.
