1.6.12 Creating Bad MKVs

Post by Shakedown » Thu Jul 14, 2011 3:57 pm

I tried twice today to rip a Blu-ray to MKV with the newest version, 1.6.12, and it's returning files that won't open in Handbrake and only plays Audio in VLC. No strange errors in the output log.

Any thoughts? I've seen others complaining of this in versions prior to .12 but nothing recently.

I just did a Backup and it seems the main M2TS file doesn't also play in VLC, but the extras do not. Seems maybe it's protection on the Blu-ray itself?

Is the video VC-1 interlaced? Lots of software can't play these back.

You can use MediaInfo to find out.
