I'm not on Big Sur yet, but I assume one just has to adjust the gatekeeper options, just like on Catalina.

Gatekeeper makes no difference, still says not compatible.

Can you post a screen shot of the error?

v1.15.3 Installed without error and opens Ok on Big Sur here. Haven't tried ripping anything as no UHD discs knocking about at the mo (which is all I use it for).

I just installed v1.15.3 and had another issue. I was able to get through the initial scan successfully but attempting to MAKE MKV produces an immediate red caution symbol type error. I didn't think to make a screen shot before reinstalling v1.15.1 but will after I finish my project. v1.15.1 is solid on Big Sur.

Is there a way to download an earlier version of makemkv seeing that v1.15.1 is reported to work with Big Sur but v1.15.3 (latest version) not?

Old versions are kept in the same place as always: https://makemkv.com/download/old/

This is strange. I updated from Catalina to Big Sur using v 1.15.3, and it works fine for me. I ripped a disc via MakeMKV this morning and it worked just as it always has.

Hopefully, the next update will get it working for everyone.

I used MakeMKV v1.15.3 to rip a BluRay disc on Bug Sur 11.0.1 and it worked as normal.

I also had no problem ripping a UHD 4K disc with v1.15.3 on Big Sur 11.0.1. If anything it appeared to be pushing faster read speeds (might be my imagination though).

My issue is I cannot rip any DVD. Blu-Rays work fine but DVD's in Big Sur show "No disc inserted".

anyone seen this behavior?

Hold down the Control key (bottom left key on an Apple keyboard) then click the makeMKV app. Click the Open button and it will allow you to proceed.

That's probably a fault with your optical drive, not with Big Sur.

I have a late 2014 13' MacBook Pro Retina 2.6Ghz I-5 with 8GB Ram and 1 TB SSD with Big Sur version 11.2.1 and 11.2 I am having the same problem.

When attempting to run MakeMKV I am getting problematic results. TOday 1 of 3 DVDs would read. No UHD Blu-Rays would read. The program opens, starts to scan disk, at times will pull contents, but when ripping the system crashes and reboots.

If if I roll back to pre-Catalina I am good (getting ready to try Catalina, but never got it installed before and went straight to Big Sur.
