MakeMKV v1.10.0 generating Java command-line-tool error ?

The update to 1.10.0 keeps prompting to install the Java command line tools, which once installed, doesn't seem to do anything, as it keeps prompting over and over again to install the command line tools after clicking the rip button. It's just an endless loop of prompting to install the tools each time you click the rip button.

I'm going to see if I can revert back to 1.9.0.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

FYI, I was able to downgrade back to 1.9.0. It doesn't' prompt for the java command line tools and seems to be working properly.

I installed 1.10.0 when it came out, and I get no complaints about the JRE being missing... it's not on my machine, and won't be (security is too important to me).

Did you have parts of the JRE installed?

If the JRE is required to guess at Lionsgate disks, I guess that feature isn't ever going to work for me... Which isn't a big deal, since I haven't seen any Lionsgate titles that appeal to me!

Same problem here. v1.10.0 is not working on my system - it hangs on "Using Java runtime from /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java".

I installed the java runtime and it puts nothing in "/System/Library/Frameworks".

I did find this. It appears it may be looking for the Java 6 install, rather than the Java 8 install.

MakeMKV can use any version of Java. For some reason it fails to find the correct java location. The correct location can be overridden in preferences, under "Protection" tab. Please open terminal and post the output of following commands:

I've loaded the new Java Version 8 Update 101 (filesize: 64.32 MB) to my OSX 10.11.6 and i"m still getting an error that tells me I need to load a Java update. What didnt i do right or what did i miss?

This is a bug in MakeMKV. Please try the following - open preferences, protection tab. There will be a "custom java location" entry. Put the following value there:

/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_91.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java

Just cut and paste the value, don't try navigating the filesystem.
Then try opening that disc again. If this doesn't work, try the other one:

That works Mike. Just an FYI, I also went into the Java preferences applet, selected the Java tab, then the View button, and then copied the "path" value to the clipboard and pasted it into MakeMKV's "Protection" custom Java location in MakeMKV's preferences and that worked without issue as well.

That may be a bit easier for people unfamiliar with terminal.

MakeMKV can use any Java runtime, JDK being obviously fine. Any version, doesn't matter.
The bug in 1.10.0 is that the program identifies the "stub jdk", the one that always asks "please install java" as a valid JDK and even gives it preference over the "real" JDK. Will be fixed very soon.

They may have already fixed it. I was playing with the setup and put in the wrong path. The latest version (.110 I think) was found even with the wrong path.

I tried both of the Java paths you posted Mike, but neither worked for me. I'm on OS X, latest El Capitan (10.11.6). I do not want to install a Java plugin/JDK to get this working...any ideas? I checked the site, MakeMKV for OS X is still the same version I have now. Interestingly this error only occurs on two discs out of six...
