Can't convert mkv produced from MakeMKV

Post by Jordy » Fri May 07, 2010 2:55 pm

Hi all

I ripped Predator 2 from my blueRay disk the other day and needed to convert it using Handbrake for my AppleTV. The odd thing is MakeMKV has produced and MKV file that Handbrake can't read. It says "No Valid Source Found". I have ripped a couple of times from different machines using different versions of Handrake and no go each time (I want to retain the chapters, forced Subtitles and surround channels hense me using Handbrake).

Anyone else had a similar problem? Any one managed to fix it or get a work around?

Oh I should add, up until now, Handrake has had no problems converting MKVs created with MakeMKV, it's always worked perfectly.

I tried something similar and later noticed that I forgot to check the large file support checkbox.
May not be the problem, but worth checking.

Are you including subtitles in your BD rip? My experience is that Handbrake always has problems reading mkv files that have PGS subtitle tracks in them. This irritates me to no end. I seriously hope this Handbrake bug gets patched sooner or later.
