Resident Evil Apocalypse

Post by g1ngerninja » Tue Mar 16, 2010 10:28 pm

Looks like there is an issue with the above Region 2 film being ripped.

Extracts about 3GB of 4GB even though the progress bar has gotten to the end and then report there was a fatal error and quits. The resultant file only contains the AC3 audio according to MediaInfo and is not playable in VLC or Plex or Quicktime. Does the same thing whether using Direct Access or OS Access.

Attached is the Diagnostic Report from my mac if this is any help.

Cheers

Looks like a corrupted data on disc. Please try the following:
- quit MakeMKV
- Naviaget to your home folder, there should be a hidden folder called .MakeMKV, go to this folder
- in this folder you will see a file settings.conf , open it with a text editor
- add a line to this file right after any other setting line:

Code: Select all

fs_ForceIsoForUDF102 = "0"
Save the file, try again and see if it changes anything.

Mike,

It failed again and I have another disk that has done the same thing X-Men!
I have also tried this with 2 different drives, my Samsung SH-B083 Bluray and Sony DW-D150A DVD-ROM that came with the mac pro both do exactly the same thing.

I attach the log file for analysis.

Any further suggestions.

Cheers

Mike,

Just to be sure I have run this disk on a compiled version under Mandriva 2009 and the same problem occurs. However the debug messages are different which I have attached. Also the Linux version doesn't jush crash it just says "Copy Complete. 0 Titles saved, 1 failed." and returns to the title selection screen.

Launch the program, go to preferences, on DVD tab change "structure protection method" from Auto to CellTrim and try again. Don't forget to change that setting back to Auto, once you're done with the disc. Please let me know if it worked. With that setting you may get only main movie and no "extra" features, that's normal.

I also tried the other option CellWalk but that died just like before.

Have the same problem / error with Resident Evil Afterlife (German 2D Blu-ray) and MakeMKV 1.7.5.
