activation key/registration key

after using makemkv for a bit an finding it to be excellent, i thought i'd take the plunge and buy the full version...
but after spending over ?50, jus received my activation key and it says registration code invalid, hence i can't use my software...

any ideas...??
running a mac mini on mavericks, which didn't come up as an option when selecting an OSX, so i jus opted for 'other OSX version"
