Are there any changes to 1.17.8 in how MakeMKV recognizes discs? I now have to see discs appear in Finder, and then relaunch MakeMKV, for MakeMKV to see the discs present in my Blu-ray drive. This means I have to relaunch the app every time I have ripped a disc and want to rip another. This didn't occur in versions prior to 1.17.8.
It happens both on macOS 10.13.6 and macOS 15.1.1, on a 2011 i3 Mac mini and a 2024 M4 Pro Mac mini respectively. I am using no-name drive that otherwise works wonderfully, and has done so for a couple of years.

The linux community has reported that 1.17.8 doesn't seem to work right for flashing a drive, but things work as expected when they downgrade to 1.17.6.
Personally on my Mac, I haven't bothered to upgrade from 1.17.6 yet; I'm usually happy to be on the trailing edge of stuff like this. I don't have any experience with 1.17.8 as a consequence, but I can say things work as I expect them to on 1.17.6.

Might have been a drive issue, as my drive failed completely after a power outage. Bought a new identical one, and this one does not have the problem described. Thread closed.
