makeMKV says access to drive not allowed, but....

#1 Post by archer75 » Wed Feb 17, 2010 8:28 pm

Yes, I read the info on why makemkv is reporting the OS blocked access to the drive however access isn't blocked. I can put in any disc I want and OSX recognizes it and gives me access. So far the only app that can't access the drive is makemkv. Why is it that I can access any disc in the drive but makemkv can't?

No idea if this is the case but go into System Preferences | Accounts | and right click on Name of account if it's Standard and check the box "Allow user to administer this computer"

Because MakeMKV needs low-level access and OSX grants it only to writers. This limitation of MakeMKV will be removed soon.
