Hello everyone !
Just met MakeMKV. Works like a breeze on my brave MacPro (under 10.6., thanks !
I tried 3 DVDs:
- 1 encrypted (PAL - 2014). OK no problem.
- 1 non encrypted (PAL - 2013). (My wife doesn't deal with ISOs): OK but an annoying time counter appears from nowhere in the bottom, whether I keep the subtitles or not.
- 1 non encrypted (NTSC - 2017). OK no problem.
Any idea to remove this counter ?
Many thanks !
Chuck
Time counter
Re: Time counter
That depends on where the counter comes from - are you sure it isn't embedded in the video on the disk?
Does it look like the "time codes" they show on all the surveillance video on crime shows? That wouldn't (normally) be a subtitle or even a Closed Caption stream. It might be something the player is picking up and displaying.

The counter is not embedded in the original video. 100% sure.
It's a H/M/S counter only.
Possibly a coding error in the DVD structure ?
... oops, I found the bug... in the DVD.
Actually, the text subtitle is embedded in the original video.
But on the DVD, there's an "Unknown" subtitle track which shows a... counter, once activated.
Ripping again without this "subtitle"... OK !
Solved.
Many thanks for your support !
