Mac OS 10.11.6 El Cap

For about six months (since Yosemite) I've experienced an error where MakeMKV can create a full disc backup, but Handbrake can no longer read the produced files. I can still create readable MKVs of the files. I'm on OS 10.11.6, and the issue is consistent across several macs.

Has anyone experienced this issue, is there a workaround, and does anyone know whether the issue is on the MakeMKV or Handbrake side?

Do you get different results if you have MakeMKV open the disk, then create MKV files directly, instead of doing a backup?

Well over a year ago, there was an issue with OS X where it "took control" over directories named "bdmv", and caused issues. But that was resolved by changing the case of the directory name in most programs, MakeMKV included.

I use MakeMKV with handbrake on a near daily basis, but not on OS X, and I avoid the "backup" function for other reasons.

I think Apple changed something with OS X 10.11.6 because I'm getting a ton of rip failures. For 6 months I've ripped dozens of Blu-ray discs with no problem and now all of a sudden I have 5 discs sitting in front of me that fail to rip, and it seems it started when I upgraded to 10.11.6

What drive are you using?

When the errors occur, what rip speed are you reaching just before they start?

Last year, when I firstly upgraded to El Capitan, both my MakeMKV and Handbrake were out of work. I had to turn to a cheaper software called ByteCopy, supporting new 10.11 system. But several months went by, I re-installed MakeMKV and it worked again. I think your upgrade makes your Makemkv something wrong. You can try to uninstall and re-install your software.
