Slow speed issue

Post by tomstarck »

Hi, Searched around but couldn't quite find info on the problem I'm having.

Several years ago I copied my library from discs to my computer, with the goal of Plexing everything (time got away from me, however, so now I'm back on task). Used Handbrake without difficulty on the DVD isos, but for Bluray of course have to use something else first. Right now MKV is processing at 0.2-0.4X from the BDMV file on my computer. This seems ... slow, since there's no optical drive in the way (but even then seems slow for an optical drive). Is this normal?
MKV 1.16.5, MacOS 12.0.1, M1 Mac Mini

Many thanks in advance.

I'm routinely getting about 128x-170x when processing BDMV folder on my M1 macbook.
Both source and destination are on SSD? Any wired error messages?

macOS Monterey is up to version 12.5. You should consider updating macOS if you really are on 12.0.1.

I often get 60X or better speeds on external SSDs on my old Intel iMac.
