I have run into a few DVDs and BluRay disks that will not rip.
When we rip them all we get is one file that is about 40 MB - not the usual very large file that we then re-encode for backup purposes.
Disks we hare having problems with are the 2nd and 3rd Hobbit movie disks (Smoog and 5 Armies). BluRay disk is the movie Now You See Me (in fact there is DVD version that does the exact same thing).
Any ideas?
We are working on an IMac with a remote BluRay read/writer and portable HD. We can see the movie on the computer just fine - but that is it.
Thanks
Jim
Can Not Rip Certain Disks
Re: Can Not Rip Certain Disks
Without log information, it's rather hard to even guess. The FAQ in my signature tells you how to turn on debug logging (and other stuff, the important part right now is getting logging turned on).
Does "remote Bluray" mean a USB-powered drive, or something controlled over a network?

Woodstock, thanks for the reply.
I tried Now You See Me again using another copy from a friend (same BluRay) and this time it ripped without an issue - go figure.
I will try the other problem movies and if they do not cooperate I will send you the log
Thanks Again
