Latest version maximised fullscreen, can't change it.

Post by rachel »

As per subject. The latest version, 1.10.1, on OSX El Capitan, is starting up full screen with no window decorations (titlebar, close/minimise/maximise or draggable edges. It fills the desktop (but doesn't go into its own Space) and I can't get it out of this mode into just being a normal resizeable window again.

Anyone else getting this?

It's *possible* (Can't remember, too long ago) that when I last used it on the previous version, I had it fullscreen by choice. To that end I tried deleting the preferences file in ~/Library/Preferences, to no avail.

Found by searching for "OS X resize window with keyboard":
I haven't tested in other versions, but in OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), you can use the Voice Over Utility to move and resize windows.

1 Enable Voice Over in the Accessibility control panel.
2 Click "Open Voice Over Uitlity"
3 Click "Commanders" in the left panel.
4 Select "keyboard"
5 Select "enable keyboard commander"
6 Add a new commander.
7 Specify any keyboard key not already in use.
8 Choose the command: Size and Position -> Start Moving Window
9 Select with window to be moved
10 Hold down the right option key, and press the key selected in 7.
11 Move the window with the cursor keys.

I'm running macOS 10.12 “Sierra”, and Voiceover tells me that "this window cannot be moved". When changing the instruction to resize, I get "this window cannot be resized".

MakeMKV does not appear to be a Cocoa app, so the regular rules for Mac apps don't really apply. :/
