Feature request: Audible completion notification

Post by dgatwood »

After moving from PavTube (which apparently can no longer download keys), the one thing I find myself really missing is the loud chime when a backup completes. These things take long enough that I'm usually not nearby when they complete, and it's nice to know so I can start the next one. It would be nice to have the option of an audible notification (and maybe an "eject when done" checkbox, too, which I think others have already requested).

And as long as I'm providing a wishlist, could you also please fix the bug where it keeps switching the save folder back to ~/Documents/Movie Backups that it created on first launch, rather than on the external HD where I actually want it to save things? (I even tried deleting that folder. Didn't help.) :)

Thanks.

Folders: It's not a "bug" when it works as designed. What do you have in Preferences->Video? That determines the default starting point for file output.

An "Audible completion" and/or an "Eject when done" feature would be FANTASTIC!

I love a good coincidence… OP in 2020 (which is at least as long as I’ve been considering this…), to, yesterday…(?), and here I am today finally here after all this time to hopefully help push this just a little bit closer to completion.

As well, there’s the minor issue of… why, when we’ve just created a new folder/path for the new “Directory/Volumes/…/[title] does not exist. Do you want to create it?” — is it not simply a return key press’s actuation “Yes,” but instead we have to mouse or tab from the default (No), as if the time spent naming the new folder was something to second guess? It’s not like we’re a racing a file, or can’t simply “stop.” Seems like a quick and easy perfecting step for the developer and the app.

Fingers crossed this gets noticed by the right folks. Otherwise the app is pretty amazing and appreciated. It’s the only way I can watch movies in my Meta Quest 3. Especially as a not PC’r, and I’m not interested in learning more apps, saves me from extra wasted time to set up a “link.”
