Can't rip DVD with empty AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directories but DVD plays fine

Post by bmcneely0 »

Hi,

I'm not sure this is specific to Mac but since that's my platform I'll start here. I'm running
MacOS 26.2
MakeMKV 1.18.1 [darwin(arm64-release)]
libdvdcss 1.4.3 (installed from homebrew)

Here's my situation. I have a set of DVDs (Jeremiah Season 2) that produces the following behavior:
1. When you do a ls on the drive from Terminal it shows the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS directories, but they are empty. Same behavior if you do sudo ls -a
2. Doing a Get Info from Drive Utility does show that there should be 16 files on it

The disc plays fine with the DVD Player app so I know there's content there. When I try to use MakeMKV (or Handbrake for that matter) they both choke. Handbrake just automatically closes and MakeMKV just churns. Any thoughts?
