Hello! I've been using MakeMKV for a long time, I love it, and I'm very grateful it exists.
It's been a while since I had a computer with an optical drive, so I can't say for sure if this has always been the case or not, so please excuse me if I'm posting old news here.
Anyway, I fired up a mid 2010 Macbook Pro with a 2,4Ghz Intel Core Duo CPU running Mavericks to backup some DVDs. During the operation "Saving 1 titles into directory ..." the MacOs Activity Monitor reports MakeMKV using around 3% of the available CPU power.
Is this normal? Is something bottlenecking the experience, maybe the optical drive or something?
Thank you for helping. Again, if this is fully expected behaviour, then I'm sorry for the waste of post.
Very loww CPU usage when saving title
Re: Very loww CPU usage when saving title
MakeMKV does not use a lot of CPU time. I've run several copies doing rips WHILE using handbrake to encode a file, and you barely see any change to CPU usage. 3% does not seem excessive or NONexcessive.
