Ouch. I swear it was tested....
This is a bug, will post the update shortly.
UPDATE: 1.18.0 has a bug - the program crashes when it is unable to open BD disc, and for most UHD discs. 1.18.1 is coming...

Hi,
With the update 1.8.0 the application starts.
But now when I try to read the disk MakeMKV crashes again with a Fatal Error right after it loaded the content hash table.

Right …
I’m getting similar issues, as well.
The updated copy of MakeMKV will happily back up a 2k disk: or turn it into a series of MKV files.
But, when a 4k disk is inserted, it starts to read a 4k disc: then shows a fatal error.
I don’t know how to export the logs: otherwise I would include them.
(If it’s any extra help, it *sounds* like the 4k disk is spinning up: but not stopping spinning. The 2k one, by contrast, spins when inserted: then stops. These are in two different Panasonic BDR-UD04’s. I don’t know if that helps.)

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1
After updating to MakeMKV version 1.18.0 to fix the macOS 15.4 bug that crashes MakeMKV, I am still having problems. I tried multiple different Pioneer USB-C drives that worked fine previously. I restarted macOS and reloaded my test disc, Tommy Boy (1995) in UHD. I deleted all the MakeMKV data files in Library/MakeMKV.
The application loads a little strangely, somewhat slower than before. I am ripping Tommy Boy now, but every couple of minutes in hangs for about 30 seconds where nothing is ripping but the timer is still going. Then oddly, it resumes. Fingers crossed now that it will finish, with about an hour to go.

Is this bug only for MacOS? I am having similar issues on Windows with version 1.17.9. Today out of nowhere, I keep getting fatal error occured but only on UHD movies.

So far so good, the Serenity UHD disc is working as I type with version 18.1.1. Thank you for the rapid response here!

Well...at least I could rip my Blu-rays.
Looking forward to the .1 release that fixes this new issue.
