MakeMKV BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ230AS 1.00

Post by rmg1234 » Fri Nov 29, 2024 6:37 pm

I just upgraded my 16" M3 MacBook Pro to an M4 MacBook Pro with Sequoia. MakeMKV is running version 1.17.8. My drive is running in OS Mode. I'm not sure if this is new but I don't remember seeing it before. All formats including UHD were working fine on my old Mac. Now with the new Mac all formats with the exception of UHD are working. When I insert a UHD disc the light flashes for a while, no seeking, and the drive ejects the disc.

Assuming this meant an incompatible drive I tried to install ASPCI but the install fails. I have removed all the protections Apple has and the install still fails.

Is ASPCI the solution to my problem? Is the source available so I can compile it for Sequoia?

Thanx in advance,

A Matshita drive could never read UHDs. If it worked before it was using a different drive. UHD is only possible with LG drives and their OEM equivalents (ASUS) and Pioneer with their OEM equivalents (ASUS and IODATA crossflashed). You wanna bet? I put in $1000.
