How to get 30-day trial on Linux?

Hi everyone
I just discovered this utility and would like to try out ripping a few Blu-Ray's that I've had issues with on other utilities. I've ripped DVDs and it works well.
I've compiled & installed per instructions and the utility appears to work OK, but there's no 30-day trial started, Help > About just says Evaluation: Ended. I've seen people post beta keys on the forums, but 1.9.5 is not in beta, currently. The 1.9.5 beta key no longer works (no surprise here, really).
I'd like to try before spending $50, how does one get a trial key for a Linux install?
thanks
M
