Fatal Error occurred, programm will now exit

Using Ubuntu 9.10.
Installed according to
http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224
Once I try and run makemkv, I get this.
Any ideas?
I'm a beginner in lunix...

I think, we have the same problem.

Please, look to
/var/log/message
for errors.

Correct,
in /var/log/messages
I see
[ 3587.315895] makemkvcon[2050]: segfault at 0 ip 08227360 sp 982f7ed8 error 4 in makemkvcon[8048000+3c3000]

I get the same

starting makemkvcon from dash works though still arrives at segfault

is this in 1.4.11 or 1.4.12 ? can you provide the core dump? please send it to
support@makemkv.com in case it contains any private information.

Same error on Debian 64 using 1.4.12
Going back to 1.4.11 fixed the problem

By the way, in the future, how do I remove makemkv if I want to?

I don't have the Vesion 1.4.11
I also hope the Version 1.4.12 (13) is working soon.

I tried to install this program last night and had the same problem with 1.4.12. (segmentation fault on startup)
I downloaded 1.4.11 instead (by altering the urls in the official link to 1.4.12) and installed that and it works fine.
