PS3 Ubuntu with MakeMKV

Hello,

Great job with adding HD Audio support! Without it I was not that interested before. But now that is all changed! :)

I don't own a PC BD drive, but do own a PS3 and wanted to see if I could use that drive. Ubuntu is installed and running. I was able to compile the MakeMKV source, but when I run the bin part, I get this "makefile.linux:20: *** MakeMKV is currently not available for architecture ppc64. Stop."

Any chance of this working under the PPC processor?

If not, can I use MakeMKV with the PS3 drive if I set it up as network share?

Thanks,
PBjr.

you can use ps3 drive over network but it will bring no good. ps3 drive can read data but it can't read a required key precursor from the disc since it's blocked by ps3 hypervisor.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I got it working after googling more.

- MakeMKV with PS3 Ubuntu BD share will not work.
- Use 'dd' and make an .iso image
- Use the .iso image in Windows with Virtual CloneDrive
- Fire up AnyDVDHD and decrypt
- Then use MakeMKV

It's extra work but it works. I'll upgrade to a BD PC drive soon. Just need to buy some time.

Thanks,
Pbjr.

Might of spoke too soon. AnyDVDHD gives read error from .ISO images. 1 worked, and 2 didn't. This seems to be too much work. Time to get the Pioneer BD-205 drive and be done with it.
