Scripting DVD backup error

I have a computer that is running Ubuntu 12.04 server (CLI only) that is set up to run a script for creating the backups of the DVD's that I insert into it.

The log I get is:

Code: Select all

MakeMKV v1.8.4 linux(x64-release) started
Automatic checking for updates is enabled, you may disable it in preferences if you don't want MakeMKV to contact web server.
This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at http://www.makemkv.com or enter a registration key to continue using the current version.
Now, I know what you're going to say, I need a key... Well, I have purchased and installed a key and can run the program when I am logged in. It just doesn't work in the script.

I suspect the program can't find the key, but is there a way that we can set it so it's not per user but instead point it to a key file located in something like /var?

Thanks in advance!

Nevermind, I figured out a workaround.
