I recently removed OS X from my late 2010 Mac Mini and installed XBMCbuntu. I installed MakeMKV using the install script available on this forum, and am currently using the latest version.
Compared to running MakeMKV in OS X, the read speed has been low on all my DVD's, not reaching more than 2.1x. I cant remember exactly what speeds I used to get, but it was significatly quicker when backing up DVD's. Today I ripped a Blu-ray and enabled debugging. The following message was displayed :
A quick google found nothing, and I'm wondering if this is related to my slow DVD read speed? I'm running the latest XBMCbuntu which is essentially a stripped down Ubuntu 12.04 installation.Unable to open file '/BDMV/STREAM/00047.m2ts' in OS mode due to a bug in OS Kernel. This can be worked around, but read speed may be very slow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as these slow read speeds are making backups quite laborious!
Alex
PS For info, with a Blu-ray I'm getting 8.0x which is the max i used to get in OS X.
