Blu Ray Ripping on Vortexbox

I have also posted this in the Vortexbox forum but it seems no one can help, maybe someone here can.
I am very new to all this so please be gentle!! I recently (yesterday) installed vortexbox 2.0 on a brand new system with a Blu Ray drive and started ripping CD' s and DVD's. I have installed the free beta license key (http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053), and will purchase the full license as soon as I get this to work.
Ok my problem is when I come to rip any Blu Ray it is ejected within seconds of inserting and I get this message
"02/23/2012 17:08:39 - Optical disk detected - type : Blu-ray
Using device /dev/sr0
Reading Blu-ray track info. This may take a while...
Ripping (track )
Use: makemkvcon [switches] Command [Parameters]
Commands:
info
prints info about disc
mkv"
Can anyone shed any light on what I am doing wrong. The Vortexbox is bang up to date.
