Hey y'all! I'm running Ubuntu and the newest version of MakeMKV. It works on my Mac with my drive (ASUS bw-16d1x), but not with my Linux machine. The drive itself will play DVDs on the Linux machine though. Are there any special permissions or anything I need to set with Linux?

The latest version is currently a problem on linux. You need to install an older version of MakeMKV.

Hello,
I've no problem (so far) with the latest version on Ubuntu 24.0.3 LTS.
May I kindly suggest you install your MakeMkv compiling it yourself from the sources if you did not do so ?
This will ensure you get all the dependencies satisfied and that the required libraries linked in the binary are the exact one on the system.
If you use the software compiled by someone else on another computer, you risk one or more library not to have the very same revision level and, thus, causing problems...

Thanks y'all! Compiling an older version worked.
