Hi. My first post!

I have been trying to get MakeMKV working on my computer.
I'm running Fedora Linux 42 (Gnome 48) and 6.15.10-200.fc42.x86_64 Kernel
I have 2 external drives

Disc Information

App loads just fine, but all I get after loading a disc is: Disc is being loaded... Nothing happens after that!
Same problem with both drives and with Blu-ray and DVD discs. Ripping same DVDs with Handbrake works just fine.

First I tried installing MakeMKV from Flatpack, and after that i downloaded and compiled the source code from this forum.
Same problem with both methods

About section:
MakeMKV v1.18.1 (Linux(x64-release))
GUI version: v1.18.1 (for x86_64-redhat-linux)
Evaluation expires Wed Oct 1 2005 (38 days)

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Many Linux users (and me) report 1.8.x is not working well. Solution for now is to install 1.17.7.

I have the same problem but I dont know how to get an older version of MakeMKV working? I can just download the new version via package manager.

Would be great if you can tell me how to install version 1.17.7

You need to compile the packages. Follow the instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224

Instead of the latest makemkv-oss and makemkv-bin files, find the older versions here: https://www.makemkv.com/download/old/

Use gunzip first before using tar to unpack both archives.

Thank you very much for your links and help. With their help, I managed to get version 1.17.7 up and running. I can work with Blu-rays without any problems. Unfortunately, UHD discs don't work.

What I don't understand is that until about two months ago, I was able to use the latest version of MakeMKV without any problems. Based on the timestamps, that must have been version 1.17.9. Maybe I'll try that version again and hopefully the UHD discs will work again.
