Hi
Trying to upgrade from 1.17 to 1.18 in Linux Mint cinnamon 22.1, I have this error:

...........makemkv-oss-1.18.1$ sudo make install
[sudo] Mot de passe de dominique :
./autoxxx/install-sh -c -D -m 644 out/libdriveio.so.0 /usr/lib/libdriveio.so.0
./autoxxx/install-sh: invalid option: -D
make: *** [Makefile:54 : install] Erreur 1
I have the same error in Ubuntu 24 (same PC multiboot)
An idea for that???
Never had a problem for the previous versions of Makemkv (I realise that it was in Linux Mint 21 and ubuntu 22...)
Thank you

It seems at the moment, that anything above 1.17.7 won't work in Linux. Still waiting for news/progress but after the recent domain name issue it is likely to take a while.

I just upgrade MakeMKV from 1.17.8 to 1.18.1.
Opened two makeMKV and ripped two DVD's. Everything works fine.
I use Debian 12.

Seen similar error years ago, but ignore it by -i. :)

(sudo) make -i install

Hi
I have multiboot and there is no problem in Debian 12.
The problem is for Ubuntu 24, Linux Mint 22; I have no problem with the previous versions of Ubuntu and Linux Mint!

You mean you didn't get the spinning disk of doom? Interesting. I'll have to retry compiling as I've got newer Blurays that 1.17.7 doesn't like.

@16442496: Ignore errors does not work (fresh install, no upgrade):

Code: Select all

/makemkv-oss-1.18.1$ sudo make -i install
[sudo] Passwort für censored:
./autoxxx/install-sh -c -D -m 644 out/libdriveio.so.0 /usr/lib/libdriveio.so.0
./autoxxx/install-sh: invalid option: -D
make: [Makefile:54: install] Fehler 1 (ignoriert)
./autoxxx/install-sh -c -D -m 644 out/libmakemkv.so.1 /usr/lib/libmakemkv.so.1
./autoxxx/install-sh: invalid option: -D
make: [Makefile:55: install] Fehler 1 (ignoriert)
... and so on

Installing the makemkv-bin-1.18.1 seems to be OK (no errors nor warnings) but there is no application "MakeMKV" in the application menu nor a /bin/makemkv afterwards.

@msknight: In March I succeeded to install 1.17.9 on a different Linux Mint 22.1
