Hi, I recently started using Debian 12 KDE and downloaded MakeMKV from the Discover App. It downloaded the Snap version of the app and it has been working well until I loaded up a few UHD 4k disks. I tried a few different suggestions I found here on the forums (making sure online connection is enabled, etc) and nothing worked. I eventually gave up and uninstalled it and downloaded the version available from Flathub. Now it is reading and working just fine. Is this a known issue?

You need a 4K compatible drive to do 4K UHDs. What drive are you using? Most require flashing to allow use with unapproved apps (like MakeMKV), and some are blocked from being flashed (late-model Pioneers).

Snap/Flatpak can be a pain in the ass, so yes it could be a issue with how that specific snap was created.

I use a script to open magnets and torrents in Firefox and if I use the snap version of Firefox, I can't use my scripts because snap has the application jailed into an environment that doesn't offer basic utils like cp or curl. I think you can imagine that this can be problematic for anything, not just my scripts or apparently MakeMKV. When you make a snap you have to add in everything that will be called for, if you miss one thing, you can have silent/unexplainable errors.
