Can't allocated folder on NAS to save projects

Post by cranks »

I have installed a LinuxMint v20 on a VM on my Qnap Nas.

Installation went well and I created a bookmark in Mint for the NAS folder where I want the ripped files to be saved. I can access the folder in FM and LibreWriter.

But when I open MakeMKV the NAS folder in the preferences area is not available.

Is there a trick to have MakeMKV access the NAS Folder to save my projects?

I have searched LM forums with no success...

You are looking in the .MakeMKV directory.

You need to look in the directory where you have the NAS drive mounted. Probably in /media or possible /mnt. So on the left pane you'd click on Computer and then check /mount

Sure.
But what I can't find is the shared folder on the NAS.
I've looked in /mnt and /media and they are empty.

Your selection screen isn't selecting /mnt or /media, it's selecting /home/cranks/.MakeMKV. You'll need to select /home/cranks/.MakeMKV to see where it's writing to in this case.

You WANT to write to where the machine will be sharing things for other machines. That isn't where you're looking for it right now.

We have no way of knowing how you have the NAS mounted to your system. This has nothing to do with MakeMKV, it's purely you learning how to use linux.

Gave on on linux and went with a windows vm and have been ripping disks without any issues.
