I downloaded the version 1.16.3 and it compiles without errors.
But when I start the program, the makemkvcon crashes and Makemkv presents the error No_Answer_from_makemkvcon
Version 1.14.7 works normally.

does not work. Same error, also because it is not a compilation error, it is an error of the executable.

Hi giubbe, I was having a similar problem getting NO_ANSWEER_FROM_MAKEMKVCON. MakeMKV would work fine on a fresh linux install but after a while i would start getting a NO_ANSWEER_FROM_MAKEMKVCON. It took me a while to figure out what was causing it, but it turns out it was my anti-virus software causing a conflict with makemkv. I was running eset-nod32 after uninstalling the anti-virus makemkv started working again. i'm not saying you are running anti-virus software but it could just be some other piece of software you've installed that creating problems. have you tried makemkv on a fresh linux install?

It is true, it is the same for me. Thank you! I use eset nod32 as an antivirus. Without antivirus makemkv works perfectly

guibee, i was looking for a way to pm you this are it's moving a little off topic but i doubt contacting eset would do much good in therms of fixing anything to do with eset nod32 v4 as it's being phased out over the next year or 2. Had same error with Eset installed.
Flatpak version worked while PPA did not.
