Hey!
The Beta-Key for the Linux-Beta-Version is not working anymore.
If it possible to get a new one? Or is the Version finally Stable and we can buy it?
viewtopic.php?t=1053
Thanks a lot

The beta key will be updated when the author is online next; you have the link to the message he updates with the key each time in your message.
If you're waiting until the beta key runs out to finally pop for a license, I've been licensed for over a dozen years, and watched the beta key (for those who only wish to TRY the program) get updated every couple of months... and for all said people to complain that their "free" access stopped working. When a new version ships, I simply install it... not worrying about the beta key, because of the permanent key spending the one-time cost gets you.
MakeMKV has been a commercial program for many, many years.

The key also expired for me today and had me restart the application. There is no longer a key shown when I go to Help -> Register. However, I just tried another DVD and it successfully read, opened, and backed up all the files. Does the License Key actually change anything in the application? Or does it just support the project? I'll likely buy a key anyways because I just discovered this program and started the process for saving my DVDs before they experience disc rot and the program is fantastic.

The key removes the license checks before certain features are turned on. With the expiring beta key, those checks fail after a certain length of time. They no longer fail with a "full key" that you get at registration.

Oh, I think I see why the application appears to be running without any limitation:
The About dialog shows:
This version expires: Thu May 21 2026 [49 day(s)]
Does this mean that the beta version has a trial period that doesn't even require a license key?
