No it doesn't , and neither does version 1.18.2 on any version of linux. 1.17.1 was the last working version and soon as I updated it has been broken to this very day. To the creators , Please fix what ever you guys broke. I personally can not go without this program. Trying to install an older version no longer works either and just lockups up the program with an error this program is out of date.

It's working for me as well on Debian 13 (trixie).
Running MakeMKV v1.18.2 [linux(x64-release)], GUI version: v1.18.2[for x86_64-linux-gnu]
I did have an issue with it not reading UHDs, but I was able to solve that by flashing the firmware on my BU40N down to the 1.00 version.

1.18.1 from Ubuntu App Center worked for me (24.04.3 LTS) after I did the following"
1. sudo snap connect makemkv:optical-write :optical-drive
2. cat /etc/group | grep <your username>
Working with both my Pioneer 212 and BU40N 1.3.
