makemkvcon UPnP Slow

#1 Post by sirbadger » Sat Aug 09, 2014 9:27 am

Has anyone encountered any issues with UPnP being slow on the latest build? The last time i tried (april-ish) i was able to watch Blu-rays streamed to XBMC but now its buffering constantly... DVDs work fine.

Its not network related as iperf shows 94.9 Mbits/sec.

Just to add, if i rip one of the files to disk it takes ~25 mins and plays fine across a network share.

I am having this very same issue.
I don't think it is due to my architecture. I'm running ubuntu 14.10 on an AMD A10-7850 so it should easily be able to handle this.
My drive is an LG-BE14 over usb 3.0.

Anything I try to stream constantly has to buffer. I've tried enabling --directio=true and playing with the buffer size settings, but that does nothing to help
the situation.

XBMC constantly has to buffer (will play about 10 seconds each time) and complains about the cache being full?

VLC just keeps buffering similar to XBMC.

I'm playing this on the same machine, so there are no networking concerns.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?

Thanks
