after my previous post
http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7517 running makemkv on an "unstable" system with the latest software (gentoo ~amd64, glibc-2.18, gcc-4.8.2) i set up a stable system with glibc-2.17 and gcc-4.7.3.
makemkv still causes segfaults on this stable system, though it takes some time for them to happen and they only occur with BluRay-discs (i haven't tested dvds on the "unstable" system).
from dmesg:
Code: Select all
makemkvcon[3836]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f28f9e34311 sp 00007f28d7646928 error 4 in libc-2.17.so[7f28f9ce4000+1a0000]
converting from dvd works flawlessly but i tested about four different BluRay-discs (which had all worked previously on the "unstable" system described above) and when opening the discs with the gui after about 95% of the "opening disc"-process the gui froze and shortly after terminated with "Fatal program error" - the reason was the segfault.
so when will makemkv work again? what are the required versions (of glibc etc)? is there any specific kernel-requirement? does anybody know anything?
(just when i was thinking about getting the paid version...)
