I’m currently running MakeMKV v1.18.1 on a headless Linux (SSH) setup, and everything worked fine with the previous beta key until the end of July 2025.
After updating to the new beta key (posted on Sept 2025), I now get this message:
“This application version is too old. Please download the latest version at makemkv.com or enter a registration key…”
However, the latest version available on the MakeMKV download page
still appears to be v1.18.1, and I can’t find a newer version (like 1.18.2) anywhere.
Is a new release on the way that this key is meant for? Or was the key posted early?
Thanks as always for the great work

Re: New Beta Key Requires Version Beyond 1.18.1?
There have been many reports of people having problems with the 1.18.x versions of MakeMKV on Linux.
The new beta key works with all versions, so installing a 1.17.x version usually works.
