Problems with Sound (AC3) since libmakemkv v1.10.2

#1 Post by bvrulez » Wed May 10, 2017 10:22 pm

Since the update to v1.10.2 in end of 2016 I experience problems with my 5.1 sound. Background noises are too loud and blending into the dialogues.

I have seasons of the same series that sound differently, e.g. the first season of Story of Film is okay, the second one is not okay. The first season of NYPD Blue is okay, the second one is not okay.

The only difference is in the version of makeMKV.

I already posted about this two times but did not understand the problem at that time. I can now confirm that all files are AC3 sound and I play all files over the same setup, a Samsung TV ue37es5700, which is connected soundwise to a Marantz 1604 Receiver via Toslink. I do not do conversion to FLAC.

Can anybody relate to this? Is AC3 encoded with different codecs? Was there an error in libmakemkv that got fixed so I can get the disks that are not alright and try a second time?
