Hello,
I have a couple of java-related questions for my (licensed and paid-for) MakeMKV 1.18.3 installation per the "MakeMKV 1.18.3 for Linux is available" sticky post. I have not installed it from snap.
1. Is Bellsoft Liberica JDK 8u292+10 the right version of Java to have my JAVA_HOME point to so that VLC will correctly open menus from disks? I followed the instructions under the heading "Installing on Ubuntu and other DEB-based OSes" at this link: https://docs.bell-sw.com/liberica-jdk/8 ... all-guide/
2. If my JAVA_HOME is pointing to the correct location, then do I need to populate the custom java path when ripping with MakeMKV? There is scarce documentation indicating whether the custom java path is necessary.
3. Assuming that MakeMKV is properly utilizing java (custom path or otherwise), does MakeMKV always notify the user in the log if the user's java runtime is being used? Or does it only log that sometimes? I am not always getting the log entry for "using this version of java".
P.S. I am using Ubuntu Pro, not sure if that matters. It seems to have mattered for my ubuntuhandbook.org PPA VLC install.
