Preferred/best base image/distro for makemkv?

As the title suggests, what is the preferred linux distro or base image for MakeMKV?

Author's installation guide doesn't give any indication which linx distro he installed or tested on.

My intention is to set this up in a docker image and develop some automation (I'll figure this out), I'd like to ensure I minimise my friction points as much as possible by ensuring I use the right base image for my purposes.

Alpine?
Debian?
Ubuntu?

A nice and simple requirements doc for MakeMKV with OS versions + Library versions tested/recommended would be amazing.

I should be the same on all distros.

Currently we have an issue where the latest 1.18.x release is not working on Linux for some. For now the solution is to install 1.17.7.
