Long time MakeMKV user. I have two computers recently upgraded to Ubuntu 25.04.
1) 3x BR drives attached. Installed MakeMKV 1.18.1 from command line. Started MakeMKV and entered registration. Restarted. Selected <View> <Preference> so that I could set "Ask for single drive mode". Application closed. Same occurs with and without disks in the drives. Uninstalled and reinstalled MakeMKV and problem still exists.
2) 2x BR drives attached. Installed MakeMKV 1.18.1 from a PPA. Same problem.
This worked in the past but I don't recall if it changed when I installed fresh 25.04 OS, or when upgrading from previous MakeMKV version.
Any ideas how to fix this?
.MakeMKV/settings.conf only has
app_Key = "M-d..." (my key)
sdf_Stp = " "
Is there a line I can add in here to tell it to use "Ask for single drive mode"
Thanks for any support.

Re: Unable to access preferences tab Ubuntu 25.04, 1.18.1
There is something odd going on with MakeMKV 1.18.1 version.
You could try this.
Single drive mode. Open terminal and copy/paste this:
echo 'io_SingleDrive = "1"' >> ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf
