Anyone ever see this or know of any way to get a more useful error msg?
Compile/install had no errors, but when I run makemkv, it puts up this error msg in a dialog box
System is 64-bit aptsid (Debian latest sid).

makemkv is just a GUI frontend to makemkvcon . What happens when you run makemkvcon directly?
p.s. Please tell me that you've installed BOTH open-source and binary packages.
Code: Select all
makemkvcon info disc:0

ok...I installed both packages...but I'm lyingmike admin wrote: p.s. Please tell me that you've installed BOTH open-source and binary packages.

Probably need a message in makemkv like "install the binary package as well, you idiot!" when it can't find makemkvcon or any binaries it links to instead of saying "failed to initialize"

Works fine now...thanks.
