ASUS SBW-06D2X-U not working

Post by VivaciousVole »

Hi I recently bought an ASUS SBW-06D2X-U from here.

I am running Ubuntu 26.04 and MakeMKV 1.18.3.

When I put a Blu-Ray in MakeMKV gets stuck on "scanning device". I have attached a screenshot.

I don't need to read 4K discs - just ordinary Blu-Ray.

Could anyone help me with the next debugging step?

This is the debug log:

Recent version(s) seems to have regression for non-LibreDrive. You can try adding:

Code: Select all

sdf_Stop = "ASUS_SBW-06D2X-U_A102_212106281341_MO3O68G4321"
to ~/.MakeMKV/settings.conf (create the file if it doesn't exist).

Can also try to downgrade to 1.17.7 or 1.17.6.

Or crossflash the drive with a LibreDrive / MK firmware. It seems that this drive can be crossflashed into a LG BU40N -- do your own research to confirm whether that's the case and what are the steps. (Search the forum with the model and A102 and read the ultimate uhd drive flashing guide, etc.)

Brilliant that's fixed it! At least, I was able to scan titles and start ripping the first one. I'll know in an hour whether it can rip the whole Blu-ray.

Thank you so much @tomty89.
