Hello,
I've been using MakeMKV for about 6 months now on Linux Mint, but I can no longer get the program to open. Running the flathub version 1.17.7 on Linux Mint (see below for full system info). I receive no error messages and I updated all the software and OS after initial problem and restarted the system with no change. Last used about ten days ago with no problems.
Thanks

MakeMKV not launching

Re: MakeMKV not launching
Can you run it from a terminal to see if any log messages come up?
Use this command: flatpak run com.makemkv.MakeMKV
You could also try temporarily removing the config data in ~/.MakeMKV to see if it runs on a fresh setup.
If that doesn't work, check if makemkvcon is accessible.
alternate command: flatpak run --command=makemkvcon com.makemkv.MakeMKV
I don't think uninstalling and re-installing the MakeMKV flatpak will do anything, but that's also worth a try.

Re: MakeMKV not launching
I get those log messages too, even when MakeMKV opens normally. They don't seem to be related to this issue. A few questions I'd like to check on.CinemathequeProj wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:04 pmThis is the error from Terminal attempt:

1. When you ran "flatpak run com.makemkv.MakeMKV" in a terminal, did it finish and returned to the prompt? Or did it stay busy until you manually quit it?
2. When you checked makemkvcon with "flatpak run --command=makemkvcon com.makemkv.MakeMKV" did it show a help message or an error?
3. Could you run the command flatpak repair and see if that fixes anything?
4. What about running with a clean config by renaming ~/.MakeMKV to something else?
5. What about installing MakeMKV from a different source like a Ubuntu PPA instead of flatpak?

Re: MakeMKV not launching
1. It stayed busy until I manually quit.
2. A help message was displayed, no errors
3. flatpak repair produced following message "Working on the system installation at /var/lib/flatpak

Checking remotes..." and then returned to the command prompt. Same issues as before when I attempted to open MakeMKV.
4. Sorry I need more specifics.
5. I will try that tomorrow, thanks for your help thus far.

Re: MakeMKV not launching
Took me a little longer but installing from PPA resolved things and MakeMKV is launching once more. Thanks!
