not a MakeMKW specific question: in Xreveal (and i think in AnyDVD as well) there is this "simulate connected 3d display" option in the settings.
Can't find anything similar in MakeMKV
Does anyone have an idea what this option is about and if one should check it or leave it unchecked for backing up 3D-Blu-Ray discs?

You should undoubtedly ask them. I'm guessing it is to pass flag checks in the JRE, but who knows.
