IF, I was to rip a 3D blu ray (and I haven't figured that one out yet), would the MKV container be able to play back via 1.3a hdmi?
My receiver has 1.3a and not the newest 1.4 that 3d blu ray requires.
What do ya think?
3D requires 1.4 HDMI, But does MKV?
Re: 3D requires 1.4 HDMI, But does MKV?
MKV has little preference over your playback environment. If a player can work with it, it will work.
If 1.4 HDMI is required for your player, then that will be a problem, but it would not affect how the MKV works.
You WILL have to extract that 3D data from the disk, though. MakeMKV does not normally default to pulling that data. But the help file at the top of this forum will tell you how to take care of that.
