I just purchased the Avatar 3D Blu-Ray Disc from Best Buy today and I can read the disk in two different Blu-Ray drives and it also plays in an older Blu-Ray player to my TV. I just want to RIP the 2D version but every time I try to make the MKV file I get an error at about 1:10 into the disc. I have tried backing up as well and it also fails. I have tried many times selecting different combinations of files and nothing works.

The main disc contains both the 3D and 2D versions.

What info is required to try and solve this issue? I'll email the dumped file that was created.

A little more info. I deselected all subtitles and the disc processed at little further past a minute 10 seconds to about a minute 45 seconds but then I received the following errors.

It could be just a bad disc.

First thing to try is to clean the discs. I use a 50/50 solution of water and alcohol. I use that with a clean microfiber cloth. Even though the discs may look clean, many times they are not. Good Luck.

Yes! I was having the same exact issues, similarly with Avatar. 1.12.3 was unable to rip with subtitles enabled - always this error:
Need the forced subtitles for this movie. Reverting to 1.12.2 solves the issue. Not sure about other titles.

Thanks for updating. Was trying to rip Avatar on 1.14.1 and was causing similar errors. Downgraded to 1.12.2 and it worked.

As the version history indicates, this is fixed in 1.14.2. I ripped the same Avatar disc without issue.
