Hi all, just joined the forum.

Was wondering if anybody had just a quick recommendation for a 4k drive for me to pick up in the USA. Not worried about flashing myself. Just wanna get up to speed as quick, and easy as possible.

Thanks so much!

Hello!

Drives are getting harder to find, globally, and prices are increasing regularly.

I'm in the US (Indiana) & have 4 x models on-hand, pre-flashed (I saw you're not worried about flashing yourself). If you have a preferred firmware to be flashed (some models have different firmware options), I'm glad to flash any specific firmware you want.

"For sale" threads are linked in my signature.

Thanks,
Frank

The LG BP50NB40 is flashable and works very well. I've picked up a couple of them:

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-8x-e ... JXTZZL27X9

The Ultimate UHD flashing guide indicates that only the NB50/52 variants are supported by MakeMKV and not the NB72. Both drives I bought from Best Buy were NB52s.

Good luck!

Just ordered one of these on your recommendation journeyman63!

Is the process straightforward once I have the drive? It looks like it!

Just picked up one of the LG BP50NB40's from Best Buy. I assume after that, the instructions in the Ultimate UHD Drive flashing is what I follow. Any gotcha's to be aware of journeyman63?

I used the tool and guide from this post: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896

The animated guide steps worked well for me. Good luck!
