Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD drive...any other place to get?

I don't mean to be rude but Asmcom has tentatively stopped selling for health reasons n his new website will be up nnrunnjng in Jan 2025. Hence, I m looking at other resellers.

I need to get this drive asap n I know that Amz sells them but fw is likely to be the latest.

Anyone know where I can get this drive and who is able to do international shipping to Singapore?

MartyMcNuts will ship a drive to Singapore I think, but I don't think he has any slot loading drives.

If you're stuck on a slot loading, LibreDrive enabled optical drive, I think Asmcom might be the only supplier. Even though their new website isn't operational yet, they were doing customer orders via email, although I see their first post now mentions them being closed for the holidays.

Do you really need it to be a slot loading drive? As the owner of several tray loading 'internal' drives that are in external enclosures sitting on my desk I can honestly say I don't miss the days of slot loading drives in my Macs.

Yes, I often ship to Singapore but don't (and won't) stock slot loading drives. I would never own one myself. The slot load is just an additional mechanism to potentially fail.

If you must have one, Asmcom has the only remaining supply of compatible one's in the entire world!

Due to space constraints in my new place, I m using a nuc PC.
If I decide on a tray drive then I have to get another enclosure to connect to the nuc.

Why not get the Verbatim 43888? It's an external slim drive containing a Pioneer BDR-UD04 inside. Connects via USB-A or USB-C.

What's the diff between the V43888 and the Archgon?
Is the latest firmware on the Archgon flashable?

The Archgon contains a LG BU40N inside. Yes, they are flashable. The Verbatim 43888 is better as it contains a Pioneer drive inside.

Thanks, Marty. Can the current V43888 available on Amazon be flashed using the SDFTool?

The 43888 works out of the box. No flashing needed.

Thanks so much, Marty, Coopervid n dcoke22 for your prompt replies. Much appreciated!!
I think I bought a drive from Marty back in 2019 but I stopped this "hobby" for awhile.

So, back to being a noob again.
