The performance of the BDR-XD07T Cross-Flashed to BDR-XD07TUHD is of a very high standard, and the quality of the Pioneer drive is outstanding. It is excellent at burning and reading discs. This drive is a top loader type and is extremely quiet when operating. The drive has read every 4K disc I have tested, all with no problems. The drive does not have the AACS 2.0 Crypto Chip. It has the same functions as a Pioneer BDR-XD07TUHD and will read and back up 4K UHD discs. Having no crypto chip does not make much of a difference, as most people use VLC or another media player for unofficial playback. Cyberlink PowerDVD HD has very stringent criteria relating to hardware, and VLC is more straightforward.
When you insert a disc in the Pioneer drive, it reads the 4k disc within 2 to 3 seconds, with none of these loud seeking noises for 10 to 15 seconds that you get with the Hitachi or ASUS desktop drives. You can walk away now and know that when you come back, the disc will be completed successfully, and there will be no read errors

All drives are brand new and tested for 4K compatibility. This drive has been removed from the original packaging and tested. The drive is then connected to our computers to be tested with the following 4K movie discs, BD100, BD66 and BD50. to check that they will read the 4K UHD discs properly without errors. Drives are tested by inserting a 4K disc and then processing a complete disc with Leawo Prof. Media 12 All-in-one Pack and MakeMKV to ensure the drive functions correctly. The drive is then packaged securely and made ready for postage. Other than that, it is brand-new. I cannot guarantee you can plug this in and play a 4K disc on your computer. It will, however, READ them. Therefore, with additional software (NOT included in this sale), this drive can provide you options to back up, burn and copy your movie collection, giving the potential to change a 4K disc to a playable file format. For 4K playback, the computer must have a motherboard, monitor, and hardware that supports 4K playback, as the optical drive is only one part of the solution. We have tested playback on our computer with VLC, and all is good. All products are carefully packed to ensure safe arrival.
In the unlikely event you should receive a damaged or defective product, a replacement product will be sent in its place. If the product is defective, it must be returned within 30 days. After 30 days, if an optical drive goes faulty, the customer must return the product to UHD Friendly Drives for repair or replacement. We will fully support the customer for up to 12 months after the sale of an optical drive. Registering the product for manufacturer's warranty is unnecessary as UHD Friendly Drives has done this for you. If you receive this drive and, in the unlikely event, you have problems getting it to work with your system, please do not start a return or say it does not function. Instead, contact us, and we will sort out any problem.
